Short review on heteropoly acid based catalyst for valorization of biomass waste into valueable chemicals

چکیده
Abstract Depletion of fossil fuels resources has triggered more research on finding potential alternative sources that are sustainable such as biomass waste. However, deconstruction the complex waste into desired products is too challenging and usually require a strong catalyst with great hydrolysing property. Common acids sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid nitric were most studies for conversion. These liquid catalysts suffer low recovery recyclability can be overcome by solid catalyst. Heteropoly (HPA) preferred choice to replace these common it known have Bronsted site an oxidizing property allows this hydrolyse oxidize in one-step reaction. Furthermore, heteropoly modified heterogenous type solidifying HPA increase surface area recyclability. Future work necessary improvise previous method preparation suppress by-products after catalytic process. In review, we summarize use reaction process conversion valuable chemical products.

Most of the carbon-based compounds currently manufactured by the chemical industry are derived from petroleum. The rising cost and dwindling supply of oil have been focusing attention on possible routes to making chemicals, fuels, and solvents from biomass instead. In this context, many recent studies have assessed the relative merits of applying different dedicated crops to chemical production...
متن کاملMetal Carbides for Biomass Valorization
Transition metal carbides have been utilized as an alternative catalyst to expensive noble metals for the conversion of biomass. Tungsten and molybdenum carbides have been shown to be effective catalysts for hydrogenation, hydrodeoxygenation and isomerization reactions. The satisfactory activities of these metal carbides and their low costs, compared with noble metals, make them appealing alter...
